Various Roads, Wingham in the District of Dover - Amendment 106: Waiting restrictions

The effect of this made Order will be to introduce new or to extend or amend existing waiting restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads in Wingham in the District of Dover:-

  • Gobery Hill – (1) on southeast side from its junction with High Street to a point 18 metres northeast of the boundary of 116/117 High Street. (2) on the northeast side from its junction with Preston Hill for a distance of 13 metres in a north easterly direction.
  • High Street - (1) on northeast side from its junction with Preston Hill to a point opposite and in line with the southwestern building line of 106 High Street. (2) on the southeast side from its junction with Gobery Hill to the southwestern building line of 106 High Street.
  • Preston Hill – (1) on the east side from its junction with Gobery Hill to a point opposite and in line with the boundary of 1/2 Preston Hill. (2) on the west side form its junction with High Street to a point in line with the boundary of 1/2 Preston Hill.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

  • Preston Hill – (1) on the east side from its junction with Gobery Hill to a point opposite and in line with the boundary of 1/2 Preston Hill. (2) on the west side form its junction with High Street to a point in line with the boundary of 1/2 Preston Hill.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 5 February 2024, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
