Various Roads, Maidstone in the Borough of Maidstone - Amendment 12: Waiting Restrictions

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this made Order will be to place double yellow lines on the following length of roads in Maidstone:-

  • Hockers Lane - on both sides from its junction with Ware Street for a distance of 15 metres in a north easterly direction
  • Ware Street - on both sides from a point 15 metres north west of its junction with Hockers Lane for a distance of 35 metres in a south easterly direction.

The below, Sandy Mount, has not gone ahead and has been revised under a new scheme.

  • Sandy Mount - (1) on its south side 3 metres east of the western boundary of 5 Sandy Mount for a distance of 88 metres in an easterly direction (2) on its north side from the permit parking bays opposite number 7 Sandy Mount for a distance of 50 metres in a south easterly direction

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by Monday 27 April 2026, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.


    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.
