Marks Square, Northfleet in the Borough of Gravesham - Amendment 1: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of the Order is to introduce no waiting at any time double yellow lines on the following length of roads in Northfleet, Gravesham:-

  • Marks Square – On both sides from a point 8 metres south of the southern boundary of 42 Marks Square for a distance of 33 metres in a south then easterly direction.

This order was originally advertised as Amendment 16 but due to a new recent consolidation order it has been renamed as above.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by Monday 13 October 2025, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
