High Street, Broadstairs in the District of Thanet - Amendment 20: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this made Order will be to introduce waiting restrictions on High Street in Broadstairs, Thanet:- (1) on the north side outside 40 High Street remove 8 metres of DYLs and replace with P&D bays (2) on the north side outside 32/34 High Street remove P&D bays and replace with a pedestrian build out (3) on the north side outside 30 High Street remove 1.4 metres of P&D bays and replace with DYLs (4) on the south side outside 29 High Street remove 1 metre of P&D bays and replace with DYLs (5) on the south side outside 27 High Street remove a P&D bays and replace with a pedestrian build out.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrian
  • for preventing damage to the road or to any building on or near the road.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 7 April 2025, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
