Cheriton Road, Folkestone in the District of Folkestone & Hythe - Amendment 3: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this proposed Order would be to place double yellow lines waiting restrictions on Cheriton Road in Folkestone, Folkestone and Hythe – (1) On the south side place 1 hour limited parking with no return for 2 hours 8am to 6pm every day from a point opposite the eastern entrance to The Harvey Grammar School for a distance of 103 metres in an easterly direction. (2) On the north side remove the school keep clears and replace with a new crossing point and relocate the bus clearway to the east of the school entrance. (3) On the south side place a new crossing point across the entrance to The Harvey Grammar School. (4) On the south side place DYL from a point 14 metres east of the junction with Beachborough Road for a distance of 80 metres in an easterly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
