Cheriton Road, Folkestone in the District of Folkestone & Hythe - Amendment 3: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this made Order will be to place double yellow lines waiting restrictions on Cheriton Road in Folkestone, Folkestone and Hythe – (1) On the south side place 1 hour limited parking with no return for 2 hours 8am to 6pm Mon-Fri from a point opposite the eastern entrance to The Harvey Grammar School for a distance of 103 metres in an easterly direction. (2) On the north side remove the school keep clears and replace with a new crossing point and relocate the bus clearway to the east of the school entrance. (3) On the south side place a new crossing point across the entrance to The Harvey Grammar School. (4) On the south side place DYL from a point 14 metres east of the junction with Beachborough Road for a distance of 80 metres in an easterly direction.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 19 January 2025, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
