Various Roads, Stockbury in the Borough of Maidstone - Amendment 1: Traffic Movements

The effect of this made Order will be to amend all of the traffic signs related to the new road layout with a No Entry and No U Turns along with a prohibit to all vehicles over 6ft 6in except for access on the following length of roads in Stockbury, Maidstone:-

  • Church Hill – place a no entry restriction with No U Turns at the junction with A249 Sittingbourne Road
  • Oad Street – place a width restriction except for access along the new road section from the junction with the Sittingbourne Road to its junction with South Green
  • Sittingbourne Road & Stockbury Roundabout – remove and replace banned turned and no entry signs due to new road layout.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for preventing the use of the road by vehicular traffic of a kind which, or its use by vehicular traffic in a manner which, is unsuitable having regard to the existing character of the road of adjoining property
  • for any of the purposes specified in Paragraphs (a) to (c) of subsection (1) of section 87 of the Environment Act 1995 (air quality).
