Various Roads, Southfleet and Swanscombe in Dartford - Amendment 5: Speed limit order

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this made Order will be to extend the existing 30mph speed limit on Hook Green Road in Southfleet - from the western property boundary of 1 Hook Green Road for a distance of 394 metres in a south westerly direction.

And to reduce the existing speed limit on the following length of roads in Swanscombe, Dartford:-

  • Atlantic Close, Caspian Way, Craylands Square, Pacific Close and Pentstemon Drive – for their entire length.
  • Craylands Lane –from a point 220 metres north west of its junction with Milton Road to its junction with London Road.

These orders where originally advertised as Amendment 16 for Southfleet and Amendment 17 for Swanscombe but due to a recent consolidation order they have been renamed as above.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preventing damage to the road or to any building on or near the road
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.
