Various Roads, Margate in the District of Thanet - Amendment 15: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this made Order will be to introduce waiting restrictions (double yellow lines) at any time on the following length of roads in Margate in the District of Thanet:

  • Addiscombe Road - (1) on the southeastern side between points 10 metres northeast and 10 metres southwest of its junction with Wharfedale Road (2) on the northwest side join up the existing lines between 64 and 72 Addiscombe Road (3) on the northwest side join up the existing lines between 74 and 92 Addiscombe Road.
  • College Road - on the southeastern side from a point in line with the boundary of 11/13 College Road for a distance of 17.5 metres in a south westerly direction.
  • Wharfedale Road - on both sides from its junction with Addiscombe Road for a distance of 10 metres in a south easterly direction.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage of the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preventing damage to the road or to any building on or near the road
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 9 October 2023, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
