Various Roads, Maidstone in the Borough of Maidstone - Amendment 34: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this proposed Order would be to place double yellow lines (No waiting at any time) on the following length of roads in Maidstone:-

  • Eversley Close – On both sides of its junction with Newbury Avenue for a distance of 10 metres in a north easterly direction.
  • Froyle Close – On both sides of its junction with Newbury Avenue for a distance of 10 metres in a south westerly direction.
  • Hambledon Court – On both sides of its junction with Westborough Mews for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Howard Drive – On the north east side from its junction with Montpelier Gate for a distance of 10 metres in a north westerly direction and 10 metres in a south easterly direction.
  • Montpelier Gate – On both sides of its junction with Howard Drive for a distance of 8 metres in a north easterly direction.
  • Newbury Avenue – (1) On the north east side from its junction with Eversley Close for a distance of 10 metres in a north westerly direction and 10 metres in a south easterly direction. (2) On the south west side from its junction with Froyle Close for a distance of 10 metres in a north westerly direction and 10 meters in a south easterly direction.
  • Westborough Mews – On the south side of its junction with Hambledon Court for a distance of 10 metres in a westerly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.


The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
