Various Roads, Kingswood in the Borough of Maidstone - Amendment 3: Prohibition of Traffic Movements

The effect of this made Order will be to prohibit all vehicles over 7.5T except for access on the following length of roads in Kingswood, Maidstone:-

  • Ashford Drive, Bell Way, Bushy Grove, Cayser Drive, Charlesford Avenue, Chestnut Drive, Elder Close, Heatherwood Close, Holly Tree Close, Ivy Close, Laurel Grove, Thorney Croft Close, Tall Trees Close, The Waldens and Wildwood Close – for their entire length
  • Whitehall Drive – from its junction with Chestnut Drive to its junction with Charlesford Avenue
  • Duck Pond Lane - remove the TRO weight limit for its entire length.

This Order was originally proposed as Amendment 7 but due to the recent consolidation order it has been re-named as above

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for preventing the use of the road by vehicular traffic of a kind which, or its use by vehicular traffic in a manner which, is unsuitable having regard to the existing character of the road of adjoining property
  • for any of the purposes specified in Paragraphs (a) to (c) of subsection (1) of section 87 of the Environment Act 1995 (air quality).
