Various Roads in the Borough of Swale - Amendment 1: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this proposed Order would be to introduce double yellow lines (DYL) and School Keep Clear markings on the following lengths of roads in Swale:-

  • All Saints Road, Sittingbourne – DYL - (1) On its west side from its junction with Tonge Road for a distance of 47.5 metres in a southerly direction. (2) On its east side from its junction with Tonge Road for a distance of 56 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Brewery Road, Milton Regis – SCHOOL KEEP CLEAR – On its north side place school keep clear markings Monday to Friday 8.30am -9.30am and 2.30pm-5pm next to the current school markings for a distance of 43.5 metres in a westerly direction.
  • Church Hill, Hernhill – DYL - On its south east side from its junction with Crockham Lane for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Colonels Lane, Boughton Under Blean – DYL - (1) On its east side from the southern boundary of 3 Grove Court Farm for a distance of 60 metres in a southern direction. (2) On its west side from its junction with Chestnut Court for a distance of 23 metres in a northerly direction (3) On its west side from its junction with Chestnut Court for a distance of 35 metres in an east southerly direction.
  • Crockham Lane, Hernhill - DYL - On its south side from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Power Station Road, Minster on Sea – DYL - (1) On its north side from its roundabout with Halfway Road for a distance of 23.2 metres in an easterly direction. (2) On its south side from its roundabout with Halfway Road for a distance of 25 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Tonge Road, Sittingbourne – DYL - On both sides form its junction with All Saints Road a distance of 10 metres in a westerly and 10 metres in as easterly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
