Various Roads, Herne Bay in the District of Canterbury - Amendment 2: Prohibition of Traffic Movements

The effect of this made Order will be to change the traffic movements on the following length of roads in Herne Bay in the District of Canterbury:-

  • Central Parade – (1) revoke the one way from its junction with Lane End and Pier Avenue and allow two-way traffic (2) revoke the prohibition of motor vehicles from its junction with Pier Avenue and Station Road
  • Mortimer Street – revoke the banned left hand turn into Richmond Street
  • Richmond Street – (1) revoke the one way from its junction with Central Parade to a point 10 metres north of its junction with High Street and allow two-way traffic (2) place one way from its junction with High Street for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction (except cycles)
  • Station Road – revoke the banned left hand turn into Central Parade.
  • Telford Street – revoke the banned right hand turn into Richmond Street.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
