Various Roads, Frittenden in the Borough of Tunbridge Wells - Amendment 7: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this made Order will be to introduce double yellow lines on the following length of roads in Frittenden, Tunbridge Wells:-

  • Biddenden Road – on the north side from its junction with Headcorn Road for a distance of 7 metres in a easterly direction
  • Headcorn Road – (1) on the north west side from its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of 10 metres in northerly direction (2) on the east side from its junction with Biddeneden Road for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction
  • Mill Lane – (1) on the northwestern side from its junction with Headcorn Road for a distance of 20 metres in a north westerly direction (2) on the south western side from its junction with The Street for a distance of 23 metres in a north westerly direction
  • The Street - (1) on the west side from its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of 14 metres in a southerly direction (2) on the south east side from its junction with Biddenden Road for a distance of 29 metres in a southerly direction.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

The effect of this made Order will be to introduce double yellow lines on the following length of roads in Frittenden, Tunbridge Wells:-

  • Biddenden Road – on the north side from its junction with Headcorn Road for a distance of 7 metres in a easterly direction
  • Headcorn Road – (1) on the north west side from its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of 10 metres in northerly direction (2) on the east side from its junction with Biddeneden Road for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction
  • Mill Lane – (1) on the northwestern side from its junction with Headcorn Road for a distance of 20 metres in a north westerly direction (2) on the south western side from its junction with The Street for a distance of 23 metres in a north westerly direction
  • The Street - (1) on the west side from its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of 14 metres in a southerly direction (2) on the south east side from its junction with Biddenden Road for a distance of 29 metres in a southerly direction.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 26 January 2026, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
