Various Roads, Faversham in the Borough of Swale - Amendment 18: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this made Order will be to install waiting restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads in Faversham in the Borough of Swale:

  • Bank Street – DYL
  • Lower Road – Bus Stop Clearways
  • Newton Road – DYL
  • Ospringe Road – DYL
  • South Road – DYL
  • St Mary's Road – on both sides from the boundary of 52/54 St Mary’s Road remove part of the Permit Holders Bay and dog bone marking for a distance of 8 metres and replace with pedestrian crossing point. This site has been abandoned and will not go ahead.

The Bus Stop Clearways on Lower Road are listed on here for information only and are not part of this consultation.

This scheme was originally proposed as Amendment 53 but due to a consolidation order it has been renamed as above.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by Monday 7 July 2025, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
