Various Roads, Eastry in the District of Dover - Amendment 8: Speed Limit Order

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this made Order will be to implement the speed limit of 50mph on the following length of roads in Eastry, Dover:

  • A256 Eastry Bypass – from the roundabout with Dover Road, Cater Road and A256 Whitfield Bypass for a distance of 150 metres in a northeasterly direction
  • A256 Whitfield Bypass – from its junction with Dover Road for a distance of 850 metres in a south westerly direction
  • Dover Road – from its junction with the A256 Whitfield Bypass for a distance of 85 metres in a northerly direction
  • Straight Mile – from its junction with the A256 Whitfield Bypass for a distance of 35 metres in an easterly direction
  • Venson Road – from its junction with the A256 Whitfield Bypass for a distance of 35 metres in a westerly direction.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
