Various Roads, Barming in the Borough of Maidstone - Amendment 16A: Waiting restrictions

Due to an error in the description of proposed restrictions in Amendment 16 (below) we are re-consulting on the section that had been missed or incorrectly described on the following length of road.

Amendment 16A:

The effect of this proposed Order would be to place double yellow lines on Ash Grove in Maidstone:- (1) on the north side to a point 38 metres northwest of its junction with Conway Road (2) on the south side from the existing double yellow lines at the junction with Maxwell Drive extended them by 22 metres in a south easterly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
  • for preventing damage to the road or to any building on or near the road.

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.

Amendment 16:

The effect of this proposed Order would be to place double yellow lines on the following length of roads in Barming, Boxley and Maidstone:-

  • Abbots Field – On both sides of its junction with Fant Lane for a distance of 11 metres in a north easterly direction.
  • Ash Grove – On the north side to a point 15 metres west and to a point 15 metres east of its junction with Conway Road.
  • Beaumont Road – On both sides from its junction with Frant Lane for a distance of 11 metres in a notherly direction.
  • Bonnington Road – On the north side to a point 15 meters north east and to a point 15 meters south west of its junction with Littlebourne Road.
  • Conway Road – On both sides from its junction with Ash grove for a distance of 15 metres in a notherly direction.
  • Claygate – On the north side from the southern boundary of 1 Forge Lodge for a distance of 34 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Fant Lane – (1) On the north east side to a point 11 meters west and to a point 12 metres south east of its junction with Beaumont Road. (2) On the north east side to a point 11 metres north west and to a point 11 metres south east of its junction with Abbots Field. (3) On the south west side across both entrances to Bower Grove School place school keep clear markings to be enforced Mon-Thurs 8am to 9am and 3pm to 4pm and on Fri 8am to 9am and 12.30pm to 13.30pm.
  • Hawkwood – On both sides of its junction with Howard Drive for a distance of 15 metres in a westerly direction.
  • Howard Drive – (1) On the west side to a point 15 metres north and to a point 15 metres south of its junction with Hawkwood. (2) On the west side to a point 15 metres south and to a point 15 metres north of its junction with The Weavers.
  • Littlebourne Road – On both sides of its junction with Bonnington Road for a distance of 15 metres in a north westerly direction.
  • The Weavers – On both sides of its junction with Howard Drive for a distance of 15 metres in a south westerly direction.
  • Tyland Lane – On the north west side extend the existing lines on both sides by a distance of 10 metres west and east of its junction with Chatham Road.
