Sittingbourne Road, Maidstone - Amendment 2: Prohibition of traffic movements

The effect of this made Order will be to allow National Highways to close part of the Highway for maintenance or emergency works on the following length of roads in Stockbury, Maidstone:-

  • Sittingbourne Road (A249) and Slip Roads – From the south side of the Stockbury Roundabout for a distance of 690 metres in a south westerly direction to the end of the slip road tapers.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for preventing the use of the road by vehicular traffic of a kind which, or its use by vehicular traffic in a manner which, is unsuitable having regard to the existing character of the road of adjoining property.
