Northdown Road, Margate in the District of Thanet - Amendment 9: Waiting Restrictions
Consultation has concluded
The effect of this proposed Order would be to introduce waiting restrictions on the following length of roads in Margate in the District of Thanet:-
- Clifton Road - on the southeastern side from the junction with Northdown Road reduce the lines to 10 metres
- Edgar Road – on the east side from the junction with St Paul’s Road reduce the lines to 4 metres
- Northdown Road – (1) on the northeastern side from the junction with Arthur Road reduce the lines by 15.8 metres and replace with Limited Waiting Bays Mon-Sat 8am-6pm for 1 hour with no return for 1 hour (2) on the northeastern side from a point 15.8 metres of the junction with Arthur Road remove the Limited Waiting Bays and replace with DYLs for a distance of 14.2 metres in a south easterly direction (3) on the northeastern side from the junction with Edgar Road reduce the lines by 5 meters and extend the Bus Stop Clearway (4) on the southwestern side from the junction with Wilderness Hill reduce the lines by 4 metres and extend the Limited Waiting Bays (5) on the northeastern side from the junction with Edgar Road extend the Zebra Crossing Markings and remove the Pay & Display Bays outside 99 to 105 and replace with DYL’s for a distance of 20 metres in a south easterly direction (6) on the northeastern side from it junction with Godwin Road reduce the Bus Stop Clearway by 4 metres (7) on the northeastern side outside 179 Northdown Road remove the bus stop build out and replace with Pay & Display Bays
- St Pauls Road – on the north side from the junction with Edgar Road reduce the lines to 4 metres
- Wilderness Hill – on the northwestern side from the junction with Northdown Road adjust the line to 13 metres due to the new kerbline.
This order is being re-consulted on due to time delays.
This order is proposed for the following reasons:
- for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
- for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
- for preventing damage to the road or to any building on or near the road
- for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.
The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
