Following the end of the Public Notice period, the Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, Rory Love, has confirmed his decision to open a satellite provision of Meadowfield Special School for 20 Secondary aged pupils at Fulston Manor Secondary School and increase the designated number from 366 to 386 from September 2024.
There now follows a four week period during which time the Canterbury Church of England Diocese or the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark may appeal to the Schools Adjudicator against the decision.
Details of the proposal were reported to and endorsed by the Children, Young People’s and Education Cabinet Committee on 12 September 2023. Rory Love, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, having considered the recommendation from the Cabinet Committee and all the responses to the consultation, has agreed that a public notice should be issued.
The public notice is being published in a local edition of the Kent Messenger on 8 November 2023 and is available to view in the document section, together with the complete proposal.
The public notice will run for four weeks, during which time, any person may send in a response supporting, objecting or commenting on the proposal.
