In July 2024, Kent County Council received an application to record a Public Footpath running in front of the Wheelwright Arms, from Maidstone Road to the Green at Matfield.
After a thorough investigation in February 2025, the County Council declined to make an order to record the claimed footpath.
An appeal against the County Council's decision has been lodged and will be considered by the Planning Inspectorate.
