Hollicondane Road etc Ramsgate in the District of Thanet - Amendment 1: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this made Order will be to introduce waiting restrictions (Double Yellow Lines) at any time on the following length of roads in Ramsgate, Thanet:-

  • St Lukes Avenue – On both sides of its junction with Gordon Road to a point 10 metres in a south easterly direction and to a point 10 metres in a north westerly direction.
  • Gordon Road – (1) On its north side at its junction with St Lukes Avenue for a distance of 10 metres in a south westerly direction (2) On its south side at its junction with St Lukes Road for a distance of 4.5 metres in a south westerly direction.
  • Greenfinches Mews – At its junction with Gordon Road on its east side for a distance of 5.5 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Hollicondane Road – (1) On its north side 14 metres from its junction with Margate Road extend the existing restrictions by 13 metres in an easterly direction (2) On its south side 15 metres from its junction with Margate Road extend the existing restrictions by 10 metres in an easterly direction.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preventing damage to the road or to any building on or near the road.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by Monday 29 December 2025 challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
