Public Footpath (Part) HE373 Elham Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2022

Kent County Council has received an application, and subsequently made an Order, to divert part of Public Footpath HE373 at Elham.

Under the Highways Act 1980, an Order may be made to close or divert a Public Footpath, Bridleway or Restricted Byway where it is in the interests of the landowner and/or the public to do so. In considering a proposal, the County Council will have regard to whether the new route is substantially less convenient to the public and the impact of the proposed diversion on the public enjoyment of the route as a whole.

    On the 14 June 2023 Kent County Council confirmed the above Order under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. This Order comes into force on 12 July 2023.

    If a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, they can make an application to the High Court within 6 weeks from the 23 June 2023.
