Kent and Medway Domestic Abuse Strategy (2020-2023): addition on safe accommodation
Consultation has concluded
The Kent and Medway Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Executive is a partnership between the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner’s office, Kent Police, Medway Council, Kent County Council, the NHS, Kent Fire and Rescue, the National Probation Service and District Councils. The group works together to meet our shared goals, defined through this strategy, on preventing and responding to domestic abuse.
This strategy originally went out for consultation on the 8 July until the 30 September 2019 and a number of changes were made in response to this consultation.
In April 2021 the Domestic Abuse Act was passed by government. The Act introduces new duties on partners, in particular the Police, Kent County Council, Medway Council and Districts. This second consultation focuses on an addition made to the strategy which reflect these new duties focusing on safe accommodation.
The consultation received 92 responses which were all taken into consideration. A 'you said, we did’ report has been published to give information on the suggestions made and our reasons for changing or maintaining the document.
