Castle Hill Drive, Swanscombe in the Borough of Dartford - Amendment 3: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this proposed Order would be to extend the existing clearway which prohibits no stopping restrictions at any time on the following lengths of road in Swanscombe and Greenhithe, Dartford:-

  • Castle Hill Drive – (1) On the east bound carriageway from the new roundabout junction with Southfleet Road for a distance of 113 metres in a westerly direction. (2) On the west bound carriageway from its junction with the new roundabout junction with Southfleet Road for a distance of 437 metres in a westerly direction.
  • Fastrack Castle Hill – On the east bound carriageway from a point 113 metres west from the new roundabout junction with Southfleet Road for a distance of 32 metres in a westerly direction.
  • Southfleet Road – From its roundabout junction of the A2260 Southfleet Road to a point 17 metres north of the new roundabout junction on Southfleet Road and including the circumference of the roundabout.


This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).


The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
