Canterbury Road, Kennington in the Borough of Ashford - Amendment 15: Speed Limit Order

This Order is going out to consultation again as a result of the feedback received on the initial consultation on 13 October 2023.

The effect of this proposed Order would be to reduce the current 40mph speed limit to 30mph from a point 28 metres from its junction with The Street to a point 18 metres southwest of the northeastern boundary of 352 Canterbury Road.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.
