May Street, Herne in the District of Canterbury- Amendment 6: Prohibition of Traffic Movements
The effect of this made Order will be to introduce a One Way only and to prohibit all motor vehicles access (except cycles) on the following length of roads in Hillborough, Herne Bay in the District of Canterbury:
May Street – prohibit motor vehicles from a point in line with the northern boundary of 16 Kittiwake Close to its junction with Bogshole Lane in both directions.
The following road has been abandoned and will no longer be going ahead:
Bogshole Lane – (1) prohibit motor vehicles from its junction with May Street for a distance of 500 metres in both directions (2) from a point 720 metres west of its junction with May Street to the extremities of the highway (boundary with the Thanet Way A299) in both directions.
The following will be made in a later amendment:
May Street - (1) from its junction with Bogshole Lane to its junction with Campion Avenue in both directions (2) One Way restriction from its junction with Campion Avenue to its junction with Sweechbridge Road travelling in a southerly direction.
This order has been made for the following reasons:
for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
