Various roads, Bicknor Green in Maidstone - Amendment 5: Prohibition of traffic movements

The effect of this proposed Order would be to place a prohibition of vehicles on the following length of roads in Bicknor Green, Maidstone:

  • Gore Court Road - from its junction with Sutton Road to a point 3 metres west of its junction with Sycamore Road.
  • White Horse Lane - from its junction with Gore Court Road and Church Road to a point 3 metres west of its junction with Pentecost Lane.

The effect of the Order would also place one way and banned right turn for vehicles on the following length of roads:

  • Sutton Road, Layby Opposite Buffkyn Way - for its entire length in a north-westerly direction only.
  • Sutton Road - at the eastern end of the Sutton Road layby opposite Buffkyn Way travelling in an easterly direction no right turn into the Sutton Road layby.

This order is being made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road of for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
  • to improve safety, reduce congestion and reduce vehicle conflicts.
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
