Baker Lane, Tonbridge in the Borough of Tonbridge & Malling - Amendment 3: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this made Order will be to introduce or amend existing waiting restrictions, double yellow lines – no waiting at any time on the following length of roads in Tonbridge, Tonbridge & Malling:-

  • Baker Lane – (1) on its south west side join up the current restrictions 40 metres from its junction with Five Oak Green Road to its junction with Hops Close. (2) on its north east side join up the current restrictions 50 metres from its junction with Five Oak Green Road for a distance of 36 metres in a north westerly direction.
  • Hops Close - on its south side from at its junction with Baker Lane for a distance of 6 metres in a southerly direction.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • to avoid the danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 2 February 2026, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
