Ashford Road, Bearsted in the Borough of Maidstone - Amendment 19: Speed Limit

The effect of this proposed Order would be to reduce the existing speed limit to a 40mph speed limit on Ashford Road in Bearsted, Maidstone on the following length of road - from a point 106 metres west of its junction with Otham Lane for a distance of 2260 metres in an easterly then southeasterly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
