A26 London Road, Tunbridge Wells in the Borough of Tunbridge Wells - Amendment 6: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this made Order will be to introduce double yellow lines (DYL) on the A26 London Road in Tunbridge Wells - on the west side remove the single yellow lines outside 1-16 London Road and for a distance of 65 metres in a northerly direction and replace with DYLs.

This Order will also make administrative amendments which do not change or have any effect on the existing restrictions.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 19 January 2026, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
