Various Roads, Wittersham in the Borough of Ashford - Amendment 18: Speed Limit Order
Consultation has concluded
The effect of this proposed Order would be to reduce the existing national speed limit to 40mph speed limit in Peening Quarter, Wittersham, Ashford on the following lengths of roads:-
- Peening Quarter Road - from the northern property boundary of The Holly Hocks to its junction with Wittersham Road and Poplar Road in a southerly direction
- Poplar Road - from its junction with Wittersham Road and Peening Quarter Road for a distance of 310 metres in a southern easterly direction
- Wittersham Road - from its junction with Peening Quarter Road and Poplar Road for a distance of 220 metres in a westerly direction.
This order is being made for the following reasons:
- for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
- for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.
The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
