Various Roads Whitfield and Walmer in the District of Dover - Amendment 1: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this proposed Order would be to introduce double yellow lines no waiting restrictions at any time on the following length of roads in Whitfield and Walmer, Dover:-

  • Alison Crescent - (1) On the northeast side to a point 10 metres south east and to a point 10 metres north west of its junction with Cranleigh Drive. (2) On the southwest side from the southern building boundary of 72 Alison Crescent for a distance of 15.3 metres in a north westerly direction. (3) On the east side from a point 12 meters north of its junction with Joyes Road place a bus stop clearway for a distance of 29 metres in a northerly direction.
  • Cranleigh Drive - (1) On the east side at its junction with Downside Road for a distance of 46.5 metres in a northerly direction. (2) On the east side at its junction with Downside Road for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction. (3) From a point 4 metres south of the northern boundary of number 101 Cranleigh Drive for a distance of 55 metres in a northerly then westerly direction. (4) On the west side from the entrance to Whitfield Recreation Ground for a distance of 26 metres in a southerly then westerly direction. (5) On both sides of its junction with Alison Crecent for a distance of 10 metres in a north easterly direction. (6) On the south east side place a bus stop clearway from a point 23 metres from its junction with Alison Crescent for a distance of 29 meters in a north westerly direction.
  • Downside Road - (1) On both sides at its junction with Farncombe Way for a distance of 10 metres in a southwesterly direction. (2) On both sides at its junction with Cranleigh Drive for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Farncombe Way- (1) On the south side at the junction with Loxwood Close for a distance of 11 metres in an easterly direction. (2) On the south west side to a point 10 metres north west and to a point 10 metres south east from its junction with Downside Road. (3) On the south side from a point 11 metres from the junction with Loxwood Close place a bus stop clearway for a distance of 29 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Kingsdown Road, Walmer - On the east side at its junction with The Beach for a distance of 12 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Loxwood Close - On the east side from its junction with Farncombe Way for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Mayfield Road- On both sides at its junction with Sandwich Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Sandwich Road - On the east side at its junction with Mayfield Road for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction.
  • The Beach, Walmer - On the east side at its junction with Kingsdown Road for a distance to 12 metres in a northerly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preventing damage to the road or to any building on or near the road.

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.

(5) On both sides of its junction with Alison Crecent for a distance of 10 metres in a north easterly direction. (6) On the south east side place a bus stop clearway from a point 23 metres from its junction with Alison Crescent for a distance of 29 meters in a north westerly direction.
  • Downside Road - (1) On both sides at its junction with Farncombe Way for a distance of 10 metres in a southwesterly direction. (2) On both sides at its junction with Cranleigh Drive for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Farncombe Way- (1) On the south side at the junction with Loxwood Close for a distance of 11 metres in an easterly direction. (2) On the south west side to a point 10 metres north west and to a point 10 metres south east from its junction with Downside Road. (3) On the south side from a point 11 metres from the junction with Loxwood Close place a bus stop clearway for a distance of 29 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Kingsdown Road, Walmer - On the east side at its junction with The Beach for a distance of 12 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Loxwood Close - On the east side from its junction with Farncombe Way for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Mayfield Road- On both sides at its junction with Sandwich Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Sandwich Road - On the east side at its junction with Mayfield Road for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction.
  • The Beach, Walmer - On the east side at its junction with Kingsdown Road for a distance to 12 metres in a northerly direction.
