Various Roads, West Peckham in the Borough of Tonbridge and Malling - Amendment 3: Speed Limit Order

The effect of this made Order will be to change the existing speed limit and to implement a 30mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads in West Peckham, Tonbridge & Malling:

  • Church Road – from its junction with Forge Lane for a distance of 225 metres in a westerly direction
  • Forge Lane – from its junction with Church Road for a distance of 375 metres in a north westerly direction
  • Mereworth Road – from its junction with Forge Lane for a distance of 250 metres in an easterly direction
  • Stan Lane – from its junction with Forge Lane for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 27 May 2024, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
