Various Roads, Tenterden in Ashford - Amendment 3: Prohibition of Traffic Movements Order

The effect of this proposed Order would be to prohibit vehicles from driving in one direction and a banned turn (except cycles and emergency vehicles when on call) on the following length of roads in Tenterden, Ashford:-

  • Beacon Oak Road – a banned right and left hand turn into Golden Square from Beacon Oak Road
  • East Hill – will be one way from its junction with Beacon Oak Road to its junction with Oaks Road
  • Golden Square – will be one way from its junction with Oaks Road to its junction with Beacon Oak Road.

This order is being made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
