Various Roads, Swanley Village, Swanley in the District of Sevenoaks - Amendment 2: Speed Limit Order

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this made Order will be to reduce the current speed limit from 30mph to 20mph on the following lengths of roads in Swanley Village, Sevenoaks:-

  • Beechenlea Lane – from junction with Swanley Village Road for a distance of 320 metres in a southerly direction
  • Highlands Hill – from junction with School Lane for a distance of 350 metres in a westerly direction
  • Hotham Close – for its entire length
  • School Lane – from the northern boundary of Old Vicarage to its junction with Swanley Village Road
  • Swanley Village Land – from junction with School Lane to junction with Park Lane

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 5 August 2024, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
