Various Roads, Shorne in the Borough of Gravesham - Amendment 1: Speed Limit Order

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this made Order will be to reduce the 30mph speed limit to 20mph on the following lengths of roads in Shorne, Gravesham:

  • Barndale Court, Cob Drive, Crown Green, Court Lodge, Holland Close, Manor Field, Mill Hill Lane, The Street, Warren View - for their entire length
  • Butchers Hill – from its junction with The Street to the western boundary of Hillside Farm
  • Crown Lane – from its junction with The Street & Forge Lane to its junction with Mill Hill Lane
  • Forge Lane – from its junction with The Street to a point 160 south of its junction with Gravesham Road
  • Malthouse Lane – from its junction with Forge Lane to its junction with Crown Green
  • Swillers Lane – from its junction with The Street & Tanyard Hill to a point 5 metres east of its junction with Barndale Court.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 13 November 2023, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
