Various Roads, New Romney in the District of Folkestone & Hythe - Amendment 1: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this proposed Order would be to place double yellow lines waiting restrictions on the following lengths of roads in New Romney, Folkestone and Hythe:-

  • Dymchurch Road – On the north west side to a point 37 meters south and to a point 26 meters north from it junction with St Mary’s Road.
  • Fairfield Road – On both sides from its junction with St Mary’s Road for a distance of 29 meters in a south westerly direction.
  • St Mary's Road - (1) On the south side from its junction with Dymchurch Road to its junction with Fairfield Road. (2) On the north side from its junction with Dymchurch Road to its junction with St Mary’s Road. (3) On both sides from the junction Fairfield Road for a distance of 54 metres in a northerly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
