Various roads, New Romney in Folkestone & Hythe - Amendment 9: waiting restrictions order

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this made Order will be to place double yellow lines on the following lengths of roads in New Romney:

  • Ashford Road – on the northeast side from its junction with Cockreed Lane for a distance of 60 metres in a southerly direction
  • Cockreed Lane – (1) on the southeast side from its junction with Ashford Road for a distance of 20 metres in a northerly then easterly direction (2) on the southeast side from a point opposite and in line with the boundary of Stonewall and Hulbury, Cockreed Lane to the junction with Lemanis Close (3) on the south side from the junction with Lemanis Close for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction (4) on the northwest side from a point in line with the eastern boundary of 3 Hope Villas for a distance of 38 metres in a westerly direction
  • Lemanis Close – on both sides of the junction with Cockreed Lane for a distance of 5 metres in a southerly direction.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)

  • Lemanis Close – on both sides of the junction with Cockreed Lane for a distance of 5 metres in a southerly direction.

    Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

    Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 23 September 2024, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
