Various Roads, Maidstone in the Borough of Maidstone - Amendment 18 : Waiting Restrictions
The effect of the Order is to implement double yellow lines (DYL) single yellow lines (SYL) and update School Keep Clear markings (SKC) on the following lengths of roads in Maidstone:-
Ash Grove – (1) On the northeast side make the advisory SKC markings permanent across both entrances to Palace Wood School. (2) On the southwest side place SYL markings Mon-Fri 8am to 4pm for a distance of 20 metres outside 49-53 Ash Grove. Bushy Grove – On the west side make the SKC advisory markings permanent across the entrance to Kingswood School.
Cayser Drive – On the north side make the advisory SKC markings permanent across the entrance to Kingswood School.
Eyhorne Street – On the north side make the advisory SKC markings permanent outside both entrances to Hollingbourne School.
Hillary Road – On both sides of the road change the existing SKC markings from Mon-Fri 8am-9am and 3pm-4pm to 8.30am-9.30am and 2.30pm-3.30pm across the entrance to St Paul’s School.
Lancet Lane – On the south west side extend the SKC markings outside 9 Lancet Lane by 3 metres at each end.
Lower Street – On the north west side make the advisory SKC markings permanent across the entrance to Leeds & Broomfield School.
Mangravet Avenue – (1) On the south east side extended the DYL by 8 metres in a southerly direction outside 3 Mangravet Avenue. (2) Place SKC markings Mon-Fri 8.15am-9.15am and 2.45pm-3.45pm from a point 27 metres south of its junction with Sutton Road for a distance of 25.5 metres in a southerly direction.
Mill Street – On the east side change the Goods Vehicle Loading Bay to Loading Only outside 11, 13 and Len House.
Oak Tree Avenue – On the north east side place SKC markings outside 9-15 Oak Tree Avenue for a distance of 25.5 metres.
Old School Place – On both sides for its entire length place DYL’s.
The Street – On the west side make the advisory SKC markings permanent across the entrance to Ulcombe School.
Vicarage Road – On the south west make the advisory SKC markings permanent across the entrance to St Peters & St Paul School.
West Street - On the south east make the advisory SKC markings permanent across the entrance to Hunton School.
This order is proposed for the following reasons:
for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
for preventing damage to the road or to any building on or near the road.
The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
