Various Roads, Littlebourne in the District of Canterbury - Amendment 15: Speed Limit Order

The effect of this proposed Order would be to change the existing 30mph speed limit and implement a 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads in Littlebourne, Canterbury:

  • Cherry Orchard, Church Road, Court Meadows, Elmleigh Road, Jubilee Road, The Elders and St Vincents Close – for their entire length
  • Bekesbourne Lane – from its junction with High Street to a point 71 metres southwest of its junction with School Path
  • Court Hill – from its junction with Church Hill to the northwestern boundary of Malt House
  • Nargate Street – from its junction with High Street to the southern boundary of 87 Nargate Street.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
