Various Roads in Hernehill & Staple Street in the Borough of Swale - Amendment 8: Speed Limit Order

The effect of this proposed Order would be to reduce the current speed limit to 30mph on the following lengths of roads in Staple Street and Hernehill, Swale:-

  • Church Hill – from its junction with Staple Street for a distance of 45 metres in a northerly direction.
  • Staple Street - from its junction with Butts Hill to its junction with Staplestreet Road.
  • Staplestreet Road – from its junction with Staple Street for a distance of 421 metres in a south easterly direction.
  • Church Hill – from southern property boundary of St Michaels Church for a distance of 720 metres in a northerly direction.
  • Crockham Lane – from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of 200 metres in a south easterly direction.
  • Kays Lane – from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of 200 metres in a north westerly direction.

This order is being made for the following reasons:

  • avoid the danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
