Various Roads in Canterbury - Speed Limit Consolidation Order

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this made Order will be to consolidate all Speed Limit restrictions in the District of Canterbury and to present the location of the existing restrictions in a map schedule and to specify each type of restriction so presented in a map schedule legend.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • the existing Speed Limit Orders will be revoked and remade without any changes of substance under The Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, Part IV Regulation 21 Consolidations and minor orders, and the restriction locations in the District will be identified within a map schedule to the Order and the type of restrictions identified in the map schedule will be specified in a map schedule legend.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 5 June 2023, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
