Various roads, Bidborough in Tunbridge Wells - Amendment 3: Speed limit order

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this made Order will to replace the existing 30MPH to 20MPH speed limit on the following lengths of road in Bidborough, Tunbridge Wells:

  • For their entire length
    • Glebelands
    • High Street
    • Rectory Drive
    • Spring Lane
    • St Lawrence Avenue
    • Woodland Way
  • Darnley Drive – to reduce the 30MPH speed limit from its junction with Bidborough Ridge to its junction with St Lawrence Avenue.
  • Franks Hollow Road – from its junction with High Street for a distance of 59 metres in a south westerly direction.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • avoid the danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising

Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 28 March 2022 at 12:00 midday, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
