Various Roads Herne Bay in the District of Canterbury - Amendment 17: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this proposed Order would be to introduce no waiting at any time double yellow lines (DYL) on the following length of roads in Herne Bay, Canterbury;

  • Heart in Hand Road - (1) On the west side from its junction with May Street for a distance of 193 metres in a southerly direction. (2) On the east side from its junction with May Street for a distance of 177 metres in a southerly direction
  • May Street - (1) On the north side from its junction with Sweechbridge Road to its junction entrance with the Southern Water site. (2) On the southwest side from its junction with Heart in Hand Road to its junction with Sweechbridge Road. (3) On both sides from its junction with Sweechbridge Road for a distance of 193 metres in a southeasterly direction
  • Sweechbridge Road – (1) On both sides from its junction with May Street for a distance of 46 metres in a northerly direction. (2) On both sides from its junction with May Street to its junction with Thanet Way Slip Road
  • Thanet Way Slip Road – (1) On the north side from its junction with Sweechbridge Road for a distance of 242 metres in an easterly direction and 150 metres in a westerly direction. (2) On the south side from a point in line with its junction with Sweechbridge Road for a distance of 252 metres in an easterly direction and 157 metres in a westerly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
