Various Roads, Folkestone in the District of Folkestone & Hythe - Amendment 33: Waiting Restrictions

The effect of this proposed Order would be to place double yellow lines waiting restrictions on the following lengths of roads in Folkestone, Folkestone and Hythe:-

  • Bouverie Place
  • Bouverie Road West
  • Bouverie Square
  • Broadmead Road
  • Cheriton Gardens
  • Cheriton Road
  • Foresters Way
  • Middelburg Square
  • Radnor Park Road
  • Shorncliff Road
  • Shellons Street

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

Kent County Council are delivering the Folkestone A Brighter Future project including highway and public realm works on behalf of Folkestone and Hythe District Council. The scheme is designed to improve the pedestrian and cycle facilities from Folkestone Central Station into the Town Centre. As part of these works KCC propose to implement highway layout changes to support Active Travel which make this TRO necessary.

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
