Various Roads, East Malling in the Borough of Tonbridge & Malling - Amendment 1: Speed Limit

The effect of this proposed Order would be to implement a 20mph speed limit on the following length of roads in East Malling, Tonbridge & Malling:

  • Addison Close, Beech Road, Blatchford Close, Bondfield Road, Bradbourne Park Road, Busbridge Close, Carnation Close, Carnation Crescent, Catlyn Close, Chapman Way, Chatfield Way, Church Walk, Cobbett Close, Collinge Close, Columbine Close, Columbine Road, Cottenham Close, Dickens Drive, Edward Walk, Elm Crescent, Falstaff Close, Forsyth Close, Howard Road, Jasmine Close, Jasmine Road, Larkspur Close, Larkspur Road, Lavender Close, Lavender Road, Lilac Green, Lime Crescent, Lister Close, Meridian Place, Middle Mill Road, Mill Street, Morris Close, Reeves Court, Rosemary Road, Ruskin Close, Shaftesbury Close, Tassell Close, Temple Way, The Grange, Twisden Road, Tyler Close, Upper Mill, Walpole Close And Whiffen Walk– For their entire length.
  • Blacklands – From its junction with Chapman Way to the southern boundary of 110 Blacklands.
  • Clare Lane – From its junction with Mill Street for a distance of 30 metres in a northwesterly direction.
  • Garner Drive – Full length to the extremity of the highway.
  • Stickens Lane – From its junction with Mill Street to its junction with Busbridge Close.
  • New Road – From its junction with Church Walk for a distance of 60 metres in a northerly direction.
  • Vigor Close – From its junction with Mill Street to number 12 Vigor Close.
  • The Rocks Road - Extend the existing limit from the eastern boundary of The Old Coach House for a distance of 255 metres in a south easterly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
