Various roads, Darenth in Dartford - Amendment 11: Speed Limit Order

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this made Order would be to reduce the 30mph speed limit to a 20mph speed limit on Darenth Park Avenue, Darenth Wood Road, Foord Close, Latham Close, Moore Close, Powell Avenue, Redding Close, St Margarets Close and The Green in Darenth, Dartford.

This order has been made for the following reasons:

  • from 1 April 2013 Kent County Council become responsible for a number of Public Health functions. One of those was the health improvement for the population of Kent. In recent years the demand for the implementation of 20mph schemes had been increasing in response to both local and national campaigns, therefore Kent County Council are intending to implement 20mph Public Health Schemes in the following location, in Darenth, Dartford.
  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising

Following the statutory consultation period, the scheme has been reviewed and the decision has been taken to make this Order permanent.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court by 17 January 2021, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
