Various Roads, Borden in the Borough of Swale - Amendment 16: Speed Limit

The effect of this proposed Order would be to reduce the existing 30mph speed limit to 20mph on the following roads in Borden, Swale:-

  • Bannister Hill, Barn Close, Coppins Lane, Hearts Delight, Homestead View, Mountview, The Rise and The Street – for their entire length
  • Bordens Lane – from its junction with The Street for a distance of 434 metres in a northerly direction
  • Hearts Delight Road – from its junctions with Hearts Delight and Wrens Road for a distance of 46 metres in an easterly direction
  • Munsgore Lane – from its junction with School lane for a distance of 50 metres in an westerly direction
  • Ponds Farm Road – from its junctions with The Street and Wises Lane for a distance of 186 metres in an westerly direction
  • School Lane – from its junction with Pond Farm Road for a distance of 743 metres in a northerly direction
  • Starve Acre Lane – from its junctions with Hearts Delight and Bannister Hill for a distance of 42 metres in an easterly direction
  • Wises Lane – from its junctions with The Street and Ponds Farm Road for a distance of 273 metres in a north easterly direction
  • Wrens Road – from its junction with Hearts Delight Road and Hearts Delight for a distance of 372 metres in a southerly direction.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
