Various Roads, Alkham in the District of Dover - Amendment 14: Speed Limit

Consultation has concluded

The effect of this proposed Order would be to reduce the existing 50mph speed limit and extend the current 40mph speed limit on the following length of roads in Alkham, Dover:-

  • Alkham Road – from a point in line with its junction entrance to Chilton Farm for a distance of 310 metres in an easterly direction to join up with the current 40mph speed limit
  • Alkham Valley Road – from a point in line with its junction entrance to Chilton Farm for a distance of 660 metres in a westerly direction to join up with the current 40mph speed limit.

This order is proposed for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.
